EU Scope is a nonprofit participatory design and project development partner focused on Central and Eastern Europe. We help organizations, institutions, and innovators develop solutions that reflect the realities of the societies they aim to serve.
Policies, services, products, and initiatives are not received in the same way across different regions. Historical experience, institutional development, cultural norms, economic transition, and social conditioning all shape how people interpret change, build trust, and engage with new ideas. Central and Eastern Europe has followed a distinct societal trajectory, and understanding this context is essential for creating meaningful and effective solutions.
Our work begins with context. We examine societal dynamics at national, local, and community levels before moving closer to the lived experiences of end users themselves. Through participatory design methods, interviews, co-creation processes, and iterative engagement, we help partners understand how people experience systems, what barriers they face, and what forms of support or innovation are genuinely relevant in their environment.
We believe that people affected by a solution should be part of shaping it. By involving stakeholders directly in the development process, participatory design creates more grounded, trusted, and adaptable outcomes. Our role is to bridge strategic objectives with social reality — ensuring that ideas are not only technically or institutionally sound, but also socially understood, culturally aligned, and practically usable within the Central and Eastern European context.
Beyond advisory and co-creation activities, we also support partners in the development of EU-funded and international cooperation projects. Drawing on our own experience in collaborative European initiatives, we help organisations transform early-stage ideas into structured, fundable project concepts aligned with EU priorities and programme expectations.
